It is known for great hiking trails, beautiful views including spectacular views of summer and fall foliage and ample outdoor recreation opportunities. The forest provides wildlife habitat to black bears, peregrine falcons, and bald eagles amongst other animals. Gearing up for a challenge? 2. Kayaking & Tubing on the Saco
One of the largest draws for visitors to the Jackson area is canoeing, kayaking, or tubing down the nearby Saco River and enjoying it’s cool waters. The Saco is just one of many ponds, lakes, and rivers in the area for visitors to enjoy a wildlife kayak trip or take a lazy float in a tub. Echo Lake, Conway Lake, and the nearby Androscoggin River are great trips as well. You can bring your own equipment or we can help you rent what you need through our friends at Saco Canoe Rental.
3. Golfing
North Conway Golf Club, the Wentworth Golf Club, and Hale’s Location are just a few of the local golf course in the valley. These three are within 10 minutes of our property but there are several others within an hour’s drive. If you enjoy great scenery when you’re chasing that little white ball, then you’re in for a treat. With great facilities, manicured grounds, and breathtaking golf holes, you can easily get your golf fix in the Mt. Washington Valley.
4. Shopping
Jackson Village provides some great retail choices but make a point of visiting Flossie’s General Store, the Ravenwood Curio Shoppe, Dutch Bloemen Winkel, and White Mountain Puzzles or enjoy a nice lunch at J-Town Deli, Autumn Nomad, or Yesterday’s. If you’re looking to spend the day shopping, North Conway, with its quaint village and outlet stores, is only 10 minutes away. This makes for a rainy day activity as well.
